Stage.1 Lung Cancer and Treatment

In stage one lung cancer, the tumor diameter is small and there is no spread to lymph nodes or other organs. In the information below, you can find information about the treatment method at this stage. Submit your questions to us in the Ask Question section at the end of the page.

Please provide sufficient information about your patient in your questions (such as age, general condition, other diseases). Don’t just write the movie or pathology report and don’t ask for it to be interpreted.

I wish all patients a speedy recovery.

First Stage Lung Cancer

First stage lung cancer is usually detected only by films taken during check-up, when the patient has no complaints. The cancer is smaller than 5 cm and has not spread anywhere, including the lymph nodes. It is the earliest stage in lung cancer. Further examinations (such as PET-CT, brain MRI, EBUS, mediastinoscopy, etc.) revealed that the cancer did not spread to the lymph nodes or any other organ. Treatment results in patients with first stage lung cancer are better than all other stages.

Lung cancer in the first stage usually does not cause any symptoms because it is small. Sometimes, non-cancer-related knee pain and fatigue may occur. The important thing is that people who have smoked for a long time or are currently smokers and are over 55 years old should be followed up with low-dose, screening CT once a year. Stage one lung cancer can only be detected in this way.
