  • It is a method of non-surgical correction of the cupping by applying vacuum to the anterior wall of the pitted rib cage.
  • It has been developed as an alternative to the surgical method for this congenital deformity called Shoemaker’s chest or pectus excavatum.

How to Apply Vacuum in Shoemaker’s Chest Disease?

  • Application for 30 minutes at least 2 times a day is recommended. However, some patients use it for longer periods of time. It is stated that there are patients who practice while working at work or sleeping at night.
  • First applications should be done under the supervision of a physician. Then patients can perform the procedure on their own.
  • It should be administered under the supervision of an adult in children younger than 10 years.
